Product Description

CPE resin, also known as chlorinated polyethylene resin, is a thermoplastic elastomer made by chlorinating polyethylene. It has excellent weather resistance, chemical resistance and flame retardancy, making it a popular material for a wide range of applications such as wire and cable insulation, automotive parts and roofing membranes. CPE resin is also known for its good impact strength and flexibility, which makes it an ideal material for products that require durability and toughness.

CPE is divided into two series depending on the final application, the IM-HT series is designed for plastic impact modification, and the CM series is designed for rubber applications. In thermoplastics, the IM-HT series is used as an impact modifier for PVC-based window profiles, pipes and other interior profiles. When used in thermoset materials, the CM series provides a good balance of oil resistance, chemical resistance and heat resistance as well as good flame retardancy in automotive, wire and cable and general rubber applications.

Chemical corrosion and aging resistance
The CPE molecular chain is saturated and contains polar chlorine atoms, showing excellent resistance to heat and oxygen aging, ozone aging, acid and alkali and chemical drugs, especially in high temperature and complex chemical environment.
Its oil resistance is better than that of nitrile rubber (NBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR), close to chlorinated paraffin (CSM), and can meet the high requirements of oil resistance.

Flame retardancy and safety
The chlorine element gives it excellent flame retardancy, no dripping during combustion, and can be made into low-cost, high-performance flame retardant materials with antimony flame retardants, chlorinated paraffin and aluminum hydroxide, which meets environmental protection requirements.
Non-toxic and does not contain heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), suitable for sensitive fields such as food and medical.

Physical and mechanical properties
It has both the flexibility of rubber and the rigidity of plastic, and it still maintains elasticity at low temperatures (still flexible at -30ºC), excellent tear resistance, and can adjust the performance through high filling systems (such as calcium carbonate, talcum powder). High mechanical strength, better wear resistance, weather resistance and low temperature resistance than traditional rubber.

Processing and compatibility
Wide Mooney viscosity range (50-100 ML121 1+4), providing a variety of grades to meet different processing needs.
When blended with plastics such as PVC, PE, ABS, it can significantly improve its flame retardancy, aging resistance and printing performance. Its application areas cover wires and cables, automotive parts, building materials, etc.
