Flexible Impact Resistant CPE Chlorinated Polyethylene Waterproofing Membrane
         CPE resin, also known as chlorinated polyethylene resin, is a thermoplastic elastomer made by chlorinating polyethylene. It has excellent weather resistance, chemical resistance and flame retardancy, making it a popular material for a wide range of applications such as wire and cable insulation, automotive parts and roofing membranes. CPE resin is also known for its good impact strength and flexibility, which makes it an ideal material for products that require durability and toughness.
CPE is divided into two series according to the final application, IM-HT series is designed for plastic impact modification, and CM series is designed for rubber applications. In thermoplastics, IM-HT series is used as an impact modifier for PVC-based window profiles, pipes and other interior profiles. When used in thermoset materials, CM series provides a good balance of oil resistance, chemical resistance and heat resistance as well as good flame retardancy in automotive, wire and cable and general rubber applications.

Reinforcement Filling System
             CPE is a kind of non-self-reinforcing rubber, which needs a reinforcing system to achieve better strength. Its reinforcing filling system is similar to that of general-purpose rubber, and the reinforcing agent is mainly carbon black and silica, which can improve the tear resistance of CPE, and it can form the system of meso-methyl-white, which can improve the adhesion between CPE and the skeleton.CPE has high filler, and the filler system mainly consists of calcium carbonate, talcum powder, and ceramic clay, etc. The filler system is mainly composed of calcium carbonate, talcum powder, and clay.
Plasticizing system
           Ester plasticizers and aromatic hydrocarbon plasticizers are the most commonly used plasticizers for CPE, such as dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), dioctyl adipate (DOA), and aromatic hydrocarbon oils, etc., which are close to CM in terms of solubility parameters and their compatibility is good. Dioctyl phthalate (DOP) has been discontinued due to environmental issues. DOA and DOS can be used in adhesives to give them excellent cold resistance, and DOS is very suitable for situations where both heat and low temperature resistance are required.
Stabilizing protection system
         CPE will shed hydrogen chloride when heated or when vulcanized (non-peroxide vulcanization system), so stabilizers with acid-absorbing effects, such as calcium stearate, barium stearate, trisodium lead sulfate, or magnesium oxide, should be used in the formulation.
Vulcanization system
         CPE is saturated rubber, and the general ordinary sulfur vulcanization system cannot vulcanize it effectively.
Vulcanization system is divided into four major vulcanization system: 1. thiourea system, 2. peroxide system, 3. thiadiazole system, 4. triazole dimercapto amine salt system.
First, CPE vulcanization system applied earlier is the thiourea system, the most effective of which is Na-22, but Na-22 vulcanization speed is slow, aging performance is poor, compression permanent deformation is very high, and Na-22 is a serious carcinogen, vulcanization of the production of unpleasant odors, the use of foreign countries has been restricted.
         Second, at this stage, CM vulcanization system application is more mature peroxide vulcanization system, its vulcanization speed is faster, the physical properties of the product is good, compression permanent deformation is small. Peroxide system can be used in the production of adhesive tape, products with good physical properties, heat resistance, oil resistance. The system with the addition of crosslinking agents such as TAIC, TAC, TMPTM, HVA-2, can significantly improve its physical and mechanical properties and heat resistance. As peroxide is a free radical reaction to produce crosslinking, some acidic fillers will affect the generation of free radicals, so such fillers should not be used. However, peroxide is not suitable for lower pressure, moldless vulcanization, high process requirements, difficult to apply in most of the rubber products process.
         it is a compound CPE special vulcanizing agent, the product is non-toxic, TCHC can be used as a cheap aromatic oil plasticizer, vulcanized rubber performance is excellent, the activity of MgO on the TCHC system of vulcanized rubber physical properties and aging performance does not have much impact, ultra-fine Mg (OH) 2 acid absorber with iodine absorption value of 150 high-activity magnesium oxide is comparable to replace expensive imported high-activity magnesium oxide, greatly affecting the performance of rubber vulcanization. It can replace the expensive imported highly active magnesium oxide and greatly reduce the manufacturing cost.
         The application cost is much lower than the foreign thiadiazole system, and it can be applied to various vulcanization processes, including lower temperature, no mold, no pressure and low pressure vulcanization. This system mixing rubber vulcanization speed is faster, the physical properties of vulcanized rubber is excellent, low compression permanent deformation, resistance to heat and oxygen, ozone aging, oil resistance is good, but also CPE and dienophthalic rubber effective co-crosslinking system, has been successfully applied in the hose industry.TCHC vulcanization speed is slower than the peroxide, but can be vulcanized at lower temperatures, no pressure and no mold conditions, and vulcanized rubber performance is excellent.
        Thiadiazole system is mainly composed of crosslinking agent and accelerator. The main crosslinking agents are ECHO.A, ECHO, TDD, PT75, TDDS, and the main accelerators are Vanax 808, EataAccelDH, NC, Accel 903, BF, which are a kind of promising additives.
