CSM is widely used in:

1. Automobile pipes, industrial pipes, domestic gas pipes, liquefied gas pipes;

2. Cable sheaths, coatings, gaskets, rollers, sleeves for various industrial parts;

3. Special rubbers such as lifeboats, life jackets, life jackets, elevator handrails, etc.;

4. Second generation adhesive (SGA adhesive);

5. Heat-resistant, oil-proof, ozone-proof materials, waterproof calendering materials with increasing demand year by year.

Different applications of each grade of CSM:

1. CSM-20 has a good application in coatings for soft materials and adhesive products, among which the best application is rubber paste;

2. CSM-30 is mainly used in coatings for hard rubber compounds due to its weather resistance, aging resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and solvent resistance, as well as anti-corrosion coatings for the inner and outer walls of factories and equipment under acid and alkali conditions;

3. CSM-30 can also be used for medical gloves, electrical insulation gloves, etc.;

4. CSM-40 (3304, 3305) is mainly used in cable insulation sheaths and cable sheaths, and is superior to CSM-20 in terms of oil resistance, deformation resistance, fracture resistance, wear resistance, and acid resistance;

5. CSM-45 is mainly used in the production of high-rigidity products such as plastic carpets, waterproof roofs, soles, sponge insoles, etc.

Product attributes:

CSM is a white or light yellow synthetic rubber with ordinary alkaline polymers. It is soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorocarbons, insoluble in alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons, and only soluble in ketones and ethers.

1. The performance of unvulcanized CSM varies with the grade, structure, formula, reaction conditions of raw polyethylene and CSM process of the raw materials.

2. Vulcanized CSM is not affected by ozone and is resistant to degradation by oxygen and other oxidants. Compared with other rubbers, it has strong resistance to indentation and tensile strength, high modulus and rigidity. It is tear-resistant, wear-resistant and crack-proof, and is not inferior to other synthetic rubbers in tear resistance.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated closed environment. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Chlorosulfonated polyethylene is a chlorine-containing special elastomer material with a highly saturated chemical structure made from polyethylene as the main raw material through chlorination and chlorosulfonation reactions. It is a special rubber variety with high performance quality. It is a white or milky elastic material with thermoplasticity. Because the molecular structure contains chlorosulfonyl active groups, it exhibits high activity, and is particularly resistant to chemical corrosion, ozone oxidation, oil erosion, flame retardancy, weathering resistance, heat resistance, ion radiation resistance, low temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, electrical insulation and excellent mechanical properties. CSM was developed for military engineering purposes in the early days. However, due to its large permanent deformation, its scope of use is also limited.

There are two methods for producing chlorosulfonated polyethylene, namely solvent method and gas-solid method.

Traditional solvent method: It is a liquid phase manufacturing process using chlorine, sulfur dioxide, etc. as chlorosulfonylating agents. Its main disadvantages are low utilization rate of sulfur dioxide (20-30%) and only 25-45% chlorine content in the product. It contains 0.8-1.7% sulfur. Its fatal disadvantage is that it needs carbon tetrachloride as a solvent. In addition, the post-processing procedures of the liquid phase process are relatively complicated (removal of acidic gases, CSM condensation and separation operations, etc.).

Gas phase method: The synthesis process was reported as early as the 1980s, but the earliest industrial device was not put into use until 2009. This process was independently developed by a domestic company, and the product was successfully trial-produced in the same year. In May 2010, the gas-solid chlorosulfonated polyethylene production process passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The biggest breakthrough of the gas-solid production process is that it does not use organic solvents at all. The materials are directly contacted by the reaction gas, which shortens the process flow and makes the process green and environmentally friendly.

         Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber (CSM) is a synthetic rubber that contains polymers and chlorosulfonating agents. Due to its excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, ozone resistance and UV resistance, it is widely used in many fields such as automobiles, construction, and chemicals.
The main parameters of CSM include density (1.1-1.2g/cm³), hardness (50-90 Shore A), tensile strength (8-20MPa), and elongation (300%-600%).

However, CSM also has the disadvantage of high cost, and its performance will decrease at low temperatures, making it unsuitable for extremely cold environments.
