CSM (Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene)
Chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM) is a synthetic elastomer produced by chlorination and chlorosulfonation reaction of polyethylene, with trade names such as "Hypolon". Its appearance is mostly white or milky-white flaky/granular solid, with saturated molecular chains and chlorosulfonated reactive groups, density 1.07-1.28, embrittlement temperature as low as - 56℃~-40℃, soluble in aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It has excellent weather resistance (ozone resistance, anti-aging), chemical resistance (acid, alkali, oil, etc.), wide temperature adaptability (-40 ℃ ~ 145 ℃ to maintain the performance), and flame retardant, electrical insulation is good, vulcanized rubber even if the filler is not added to strengthen the strength of the rubber also has a higher strength. The production process mainly includes solvent method (carbon tetra chloride solvent is required, and the process is cumbersome) and gas-solid method (solvent-free, green and environmentally friendly, and has been industrialized domestically), which is widely used in the fields of rubber products, coatings, wires and cables, and so on.
