MBS Impact Modifier

Mbs Impact Modifier Is a Copolymer Of Methyl MethacryIate, Butadiene And Styrene. The Solubility Parameter Of Mbs Is 94-9.5, Which Is Close To That Of Pvc. Therefore, Mbs Has Good Compatibility With Pvc. Its Biggest Feature Is That Transparent Products Can Be Made By Adding Pvc. Generally, Adding 10-17 Phr Of Pvc Can Increase The Impact Strength Of Pvc By 6-15 Times, But When Mbs Is More Than 30 Phr, The Impact Strength Of Pvc Will Decrease. Mbs Itself Has Good Impact Performance, Good Transparency, Light Transmittance Up To More Than 90%, And At The Same Time, It Has Little Impact On Other Properties Of The Resin, Such As Tensile Strength, Elongation At Break And So On. Mbs Has a High Price And Is Often Used In Combination With Other Impact Modifiers, Such As Eav, Cpe, Sbs, Etc. Mbs Has Poor Heat Resistance And Weather Resistance, So It Is Not Suitable For Outdoor Long-Term Use Products. Generally, Mbs Is Not Used As Impact Modifier In The Production Of Plastic Door And Window Profiles.

1. PharmaceuticaI and Medical
Blister packaging: Provides crystal-clear transparency to ensure product visibility and prevent tamperlng, while enhancing puncture resistance on high-speed thermoforming lines. Masks, sterile trays, IV infusion components: Maintains optical clarity and impact toughness after gamma ray sterilization, reducing the risk of microcracks during drops or rough handling.

2. Hot and cold water piping systems
C-PVC solar pipes: Maintain long-term hydrostatic strength at 60-90°C and resist UV embrittlement, extending the service life of rooftop or outdoor pipes. U-PVC sewage pipes: Enhance pipe wall strength, resist soil stress and freeze-thaw cycles, and reduce the incidence of brittle failure of buried or outdoor pipes.

3. Building and construction profiles
Door and window frames: Improve impact strength of welds and corners, and eliminate cold cracks during winter assembly or transportation.

Exterior siding and patios: After 3,000 hours of QUV-A treatment, it still maintains a high gloss surface and more than 85% tensile strength retention, resistant to hail impact and thermal expansion, and will not whiten or warp.

4. Injection molded electrical and consumer products
Circuit breaker housings: Meet UL 94 V-0 flame retardant standards without affecting drop impact performance, ensuring safe operation during installation. Power tool handles and electrical appliance housings: Pass the 1.5-meter concrete drop test to reduce on-site rework due to housing cracking. Smart cards and ID cards: Provide high stiffness to ensure reliable chip embedding while maintaining flexibility to prevent breakage during daily bending.

5. Calendered sheets and flexible films
Industrial pads and conveyor belts: Provide high impact toughness with thicknesses from 0.1 to 10 mm, and have puncture and tear resistance in chemical or abrasive environments. Agricultural and laminate films: Enhanced dart and nail resistance, extending film life under wind loads and rough handling during installation.
